Exploration of the high-energy Universe is making dramatic progress in recent years. X-ray and gamma-ray observations are revealing new sources in an exponential fashion. The observations of cosmic rays have also achieved great precision. We have also witnessed the discovery of high-energy neutrinos traveling from the extragalactic Universe. In addition, direct detection of gravitational waves is on the horizon. Most of these cosmic multi-messengers are powered by central engines, such as black holes and neutron stars. Theoretical understanding of central engines and related processes is vital in these exciting fields of high-energy astrophysics and astroparticle physics. In order to exchange new ideas, we organize this school-like workshop as part of annual activities in KEK.

This school-like workshop consists of lectures and short talks. We invite renowned lecturers and each of them will give us 3 or 4 lectures (~80 min/lecture). Some lectures will be given on the whiteboard. We have also short talks to encourage communication among participants. The total number of participants are limited to about 40. The main participants are expected to be PhD course students and postdocs.
