So, its total height is 120m from the ground. The monument is, e.g., three times taller and thirty times larger in volume than the Statue of Liberty. More than 6000 plates were required to overlay the body of the statue, and each plate formed the complex configuration. One can take an elevator to the fifth floor, 85m high on the ground, and have a look round over.
Chateau Kamiya : The first full-scale winery in Japan, Chateau Kamiya, was built in 1903 by Denbei Kamiya. The summit, consisting of Mt.Nantai and Mt.Nyotai, provides a magnificent view of the Kanto Plain. The top can be reached either by cable car from Tsukubasan Shrine at the southern foot of the mountain or by ropeway from Tsutsujigaoka at the southeastern foot. Tsukubasan Shrine is dedicated to an important god and goddess in Shinto mythology and the guardian gods of Mt. Tsukuba. The buildings are excellent examples of Japanese shrine architecture.
