Computer System for Diagnostic of Electron
Beam Using Transition Radiation

Beam diagnostic system on the base of transition radiation analysis is very
informative and sensitive method for stuydyng physical properties of the beam
and adjusting of electron CW linacs. Optical transition radiation converted to
standard TV signal is analysed with the help of original computer based binary
system of technical vision. It is possible to realize beam diagnostic in real
time due to special hardware algorithms of image processing realized in video
processor. The feature ensures cost effective solutions and simple software
support. Data flows of digitalized information are very compact and full of
inforamtion. Diagnostic system is connected to computer control system of
racetrack microtron injector. Experimental results of the system application
are described.
