The use of BINP designed distributed intelligent controllers for high-stability
magnet power supplies allows successful solution of the problem of beam
acceleration in the VEPP-4M collider. There are two varieties of the
controller. The first has a sixteen 16-bit DAC, the second has a 19-bit DAC,
error amplifier and shunt. Both varieties have digital interpolation and
MIL/STD-1553 interfaces. Hardware and software aspects of the control of the
magnetic system are described. Results of study of field's behavior in
magnetic elements using these distributed controllers are presented.
