Extensions of ACNET for Controlling the CDF Detector

The control system for the CDF experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron proton
anti-proton collider is described. A number of functions are performed by
components integrated with the Fermilab accelerator control system ACNET. These
include monitoring of FASTBUS crate statuses, and control and monitoring of
high voltage systems and the CDF silicon vertex detector. Alarm detection and
reporting is provided by a dedicated CDF extension. Configuration and
monitoring of the data acquisition system is done by a set of programs and data
paths that are independent of ACNET.
