Accelerator Study System Based on RISC/UNIX

The mixture system of RISC/UNIX and LynxOS takes advantage on Monitor and
Control system for accelerators due to its flexibility, calculation power and
cost performance. A WS
based accelerator study system is planned for KEK-PS. The expected performance
provides a more sophisticated environment of accelerator study and operation.
The unified data-acquisition and control system saves the study time extremely
and will provide high quality beams as a result. A fast position monitor is
established at first in the WS based system; it is a good tool for observing
the beam oscillation in a ring and also provides the injection error. In this
paper, the development of an injection error monitor at KEK is described as the
first case of the unified WS based accelerator study system.
