The Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPC) control system has been upgraded
in Oct. 1994. The new system adopts a distributed architecture based on
Ethernet. Except low level CAMAC hardware equipment, all high level control
computers and their adapters have been updated. The old console with touch
panels, color monitors and knobs has been replaced by workstations. This paper
describes the methods for developing the man-machine interface, under X-windows
in a network environment.
