The 1st Circulation for PD07

Dear colleagues,

This is the first announcement for the International Workshop on new Photon-Detectors (PD07), which will take place at Kobe University in Kobe, Japan, from June 27-29. The workshop web site is http://www-conf.kek.jp/PD07/. You will find the necessary information to join PD07 on the web site.

Recently, we have seen an evolution of photon-detection technology with new devices applicable to many fields: high energy physics, nuclear physics, cosmic-ray physics, astronomy, cosmology and medical sciences. The workshop focuses on recent development of new photon-sensors and the applications. The ¡ÈGeiger mode multi-pixel photon device¡É is one of the main targets at this workshop. We also cover Hybrid-PMT, APD, MPC-PMT and other new photon-sensors.

With great pleasure, we would like to invite you to attend and contribute to the workshop in Kobe. Kobe is one of the most famous and beautiful port towns in Japan with a great deal of history and tradition. The workshop will consist of invited talks and contributed talks. Please submit an abstract for your contributions no later than May 15th. Please contact us if you have any questions about PD07.

The workshop is sponsored by the Detector Technology Project, IPNS, KEK and Faculty of Science, Kobe University. The workshop is also supported by JSPS Grant-in-Aid for Creative Scientific Research ¡ÈResearch and Development of a Novel Detector System for the International Linear Collider¡É, and MEXT Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research on Priority Areas ¡ÈNew Development of Flavor Physics¡É.

Looking forward to seeing you in Kobe,

Kiyotomo KAWAGOE
Chairperson of PD07 Local Organizing Committee

Tsuyoshi NAKAYA
