The GridKa cluster uses a commercial parallel file system to obtain a highly available high speed storage access using a combination of Fibre Channel (SAN) and Ethernet (LAN) to optimize between data throughput and costs. This talk will present the design, implementation and optimizations of the GridK a storage solution which will offer over 300TB online storage for 600 nodes. Results are presented of the first throughput measurements of one of the largest Linux based parallel storage systems in the world.
