Virtual meeting
At the conference dinner in PhiPsi at BINP in Feb 2019
Simon Eidelman passed away on June 28, 2021. We all know that Simon is a pioneer of the field of muon g-2 and its connection to experimental inputs. Science being discussed in this workshop is largely based on his strong and persistent contributions over decades. We all mourn Simon.

The muon g-2 is arguably one of the most important observables in contemporary particle physics. The long-standing anomaly at the level of more than 3 standard deviations between the experimental value and the Standard Model (SM) prediction of the muon g-2 may indicate the existence of new physics beyond the SM, which has attracted lots of physicists. The level of the significance may become even higher since the new experiment at Fermilab is currently running, and the other experiment at J-PARC in Japan with a completely different experimental technique is launching. The J-PARC experiment has reached to the stage being ready to start its construction. These "new waves" will improve the experimental situation. On this occasion, coherent efforts from both theorists and experimentalists to improve the SM prediction become fundamentally important. The g-2 theory initiative was formed under this concept.
The aim of this workshop is to gather those people who are interested in the field and discuss recent developments and prospects to improve the theoretical prediction of the muon g-2. The workshop will take place in a virtual format from June 28 to July 2, 2021.
