The 1st Circulation for PD09

Dear colleagues,

This is the first announcement for the International Workshop on Photon-Detectors (PD09), which will take place at Shinshu University in Matsumoto, Nagano, Japan, from June 24-26. The workshop web site is http://www-conf.kek.jp/PD09/ You will find the necessary information to join PD09 on the web site.

Recently, we are looking at the evolution of photon-detection technology with new devices applicable to many fields: high energy physics, nuclear physics, cosmic-ray physics, astronomy, cosmology and medical sciences. The workshop focuses on recent development of photon-sensors and the applications. The ¡ÈGeiger mode multi-pixel photon device¡É is one of the main targets at this workshop. We also cover Hybrid-PMT, APD, MCP-PMT and other new photon-sensors.

With great pleasure, we would like to invite you to attend and contribute to the workshop in Matsumoto which is one of the most famous and beautiful towns in Japan with its traditional castle. The workshop will consist of invited talks and contributed talks in plenary sessions only. A poster session will be included. Please submit abstracts for your contributions no later than May 15th. Please contact us, if you have any questions about PD09.

The workshop is sponsored by the Detector Technology Project, IPNS, KEK and Faculty of Science, Shinshu University.

Looking forward to seeing you in Matsumoto,

Tohru Takeshita
Chairperson of PD09 Local Organizing Committee
