From Tokyo

• Use JR Shinkansen Super Express (Nozomi or Hikari) to reach Kyoto. It takes about 2.5 hours. The fare is 13520 yen (including seat reservation fee).
• Then change train to Kintetsu railways. You can take Ltd. Express (it takes 35 min) or Express (45 min) train bound for Nara. The fare is 610 yen (+ 500 yen for seat reservation if you take Ltd. Express).

From Nagoya

• Using Kintetsu Ltd. Express train is one possibility:
  • You take the Ltd. Express trains bound for Namba (south part of Osaka) at Kintesu Nagoya station (every half past o'clock, i.e. 6:30, 7:30, ...), it will stop at Yamato-Yagi station.
  • Change train toward Saidaiji. Ltd. Express train bound for Kyoto is a good connection (within a few min.).
  • It takes only 5min. between Saidaiji and Kintetsu Nara station.
  • The fare is 3750yen including seat reservation fee. Entire trip takes about 2.5 hours.
• Same as coming from Tokyo, you can use Shinkansen to get Kyoto (about 40min., the fare is 5640 yen including seat reservation fee), then change to Kintetsu Railways (see above).

From(and to) Kansai(Osaka, KIX) Airport

• Highway Bus (Fare = 1800yen for one way, it takes 80min.)
  • From Kansai airport, the bus starts from 1st. level (same as international arrival floor). Buy ticket at the vending machine, and go to the bus depot number 9.
    Departure: 7:40, 8:40, 10:40, 12:40, 13:40, 14:40, 15:40, 16:40, 17:40, 18:40, 19:40, 20:40.
  • To Kansai airport, the bus starts from the depot indicated in the map.
    Departure; 6:05, 7:05, 8:05, 10:05, 12:05, 13:05, 15:05, 16:05, 17:05, 18:05, 19:05, 20:05, 21:05.
    Only in this direction, probably better to reserve beforehand by Tel: 0742-22-5110, or LOC plan to help to do it.
• Nankai Railways (between airport and Namba) and Kintetsu Railways (between Namba and Nara)
  • Fare of Nankai "Rapit" Express train is 1390 yen including seat reservation. It takes 40min.
  • Kintetsu fare between Namba and Nara is 540 yen.
